Many of you have successfully completed the BTT1O1 course way back in grade 9. This course aims to make you much more literate in the world of information technology. Before we can begin, we will do a skills "check up". That means using your computer workstation to make sure you can complete many of the tasks first learned in BTT1O1. Print this page out and place a check mark beside each task as they are completed. Try to create as few files as possible.

File Management (Windows XX):
Save, open, delete, and move files, find files, create folders.
Electronic Presentations (MS Powerpoint):
Maximum bullets per page? Graphics per page?
Backgrounds per presentation?File extension?
Electronic Research:
Use multiple words, -, "" and mega search engines
Effective web page criteria?
Word-processing (MS Word):
Cut, copy and paste; bold, italicize text, word wrap, insert and wrap graphics, tables, columns, find and replace, headers and footers, page numbering, print preview, zoom,mail merge, report writing. File extension?
Desktop Publishing (MS Publisher):
Find and use templates, text boxes, graphics, sizing.File extension?
Spreadsheets (MS Excel):
Add, subtract, multiply and divide in formulas, maximum, minimum, average, count functions, absolute cell reference, IF formula, basic graph creation.File extension?
Databases (Filemaker Pro or MS Access):
Create fields (text, number, calculation, summary, etc.), buttons, use modes effectively (browse, layout, preview, find ), create report.
Web Page Design (Dreamweaver):
Use tables, add links, graphics, multiple pages, flash buttons.
